Narrow down basic factors.

Ideal camps, length, dates, budget, size of camp, gender mix, age range are things you should take in consideration before selecting a camp for your children. Make a list of all this basic factors.

Talk to your kids’ teacher.

Your kids’ teacher  spent almost every morning of the past 10 months, so she usually knows best what your children need. Involve your child.

What if you enroll him in basketball camp and what he really wanted was drawing? That happened to me when I told my 6 year old he was going to basketball camp (I thought the exercise would be good for him) But he said he’s not AT ALL interested on basketball, he prefers dodgeball as a sport and drawing, go figure! That’s why I really recommend to get your children invloved in the decision making, this way; It’s a greater commitment and  they can’t blame you for the decision.

Get references.

Ask parents and campers who have experienced the camp or program you are considering enrolling your children, in some cases directors would be happy to provide a list of families.

Choose diversity

I know we want them to be EXHAUSTED! be the end of the night, but when choosing summer camps, balance them; cerebral programs paired with physical activity. As much as children say “I love to play basketball or cook” six, seven, eight weeks  of the same routine could change that.

Only 18 summers with our children

HAVE FUN!

This is the most important tip! Summer was invented so we ALL relax and enjoy the sunny days, don’t stress if that specific camp is full and you can’t sign him/her up, look for another option and plan fun activities with your children, go to the beach, take bike rides, plan movie nights at a drive-in, they’re SO MUCH FUN
