There are 40 days of lent, that means 40 dishes with fish or vegetarian, but the dishes don’t have to be complicated, with a little bit of creativity and using Latin traditional flavor, you can make your family and friends’ tummy very happy! It’s a tradition in my family to get together and cook at least one a week and this dish is one we love to prepare because everyone, even the kids can participate.
How to prepare Shrimp Pasta with Chipotle Sauce, Easy and Delicious Lent Recipe with La Morena
Ingredients (This recipe is for 1 person)
- 10-15 shrimps (Cooked and tail-off)
- 1/2 cup of pasta
- 1/4 tsp of Garlic
- 1/4 of a cup
- 1/4 of a cup of plain Greek yogurt or 1/4 of a cup of sour cream.
- 1/4 Onion
- 1/2 Tomato
- Cilantro for decoration
- Olive oil
- 1/4 of a cup of La Morena Chipotle sauce
Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick frying pan, and after dicing onion and tomato fry them, add salt and garlic and keep frying until onion is brown, NOT BLACK. Add the shrimp, La Morena Chipotle sauce, either the yogurt or cream and pre-cooked pasta, cook for 3 minutes approximately, overcooked shrimp are rubbery and sad. General rule to cook shrimp: straight shrimp are undercooked, shrimp that have just curled into a C-shape are perfectly cooked and shrimp that have twisted into an O-shape are terribly, irreparably overcooked.
Serve it and add a few pieces of avocado, either on the shrimp pasta or on the side and decorate it with cilantro, this Latin dish takes you approximately 30 minutes to prepare and it’s perfect for Lent. To make it less spicy for the kids, add less chipotle or add tomato sauce to mix it.
