Must Do’s and Where to Eat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World

This is not a sponsored post. I received complimentary tickets for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as a Disney fan my opinion is solely my own.

There are dozens of attractions at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida so you can easily get overwhelmed, so while at  the Happiest Place on Earth of the East Coast this summer week, I discovered it’s best to make a list before hand of the attractions you want to visit.

Disney's Hollywood studios

On our second day we visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you get a behind the scenes look at the making of movies. Here’s a list of the attractions you can’t miss and the best places to eat.

1-Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith

Sunset BoulevardHeight: 48in (122cm) or taller
Fastpass available

Rock and roll coaster disney's hollywood studios

As a fan of roller coasters, I have to say this is the best one I’ve ever been! Here you ride a limo-coaster and basically Rock and roll in the dark through the Los Angeles streets on your way to an Aerosmith concert going as fast as 60mph! while listening to Aerosmith songs like; “Dude (Looks Like a Lady)” “Love n the Elevator” and many more!

Tip: As soon as you get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios get this fastpass because it’s the most popular ride at this Disney park.

2-The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™

Sunset BoulevardHeight: 40in (102cm) or taller
Fastpass available

Disnye's tower of terror

This is one of our favorite rides at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim, CA so we had to ride it and we actually did it twice! What’s not to like about a journey into the Twilight Zone, secret passages, going into an elevator that will go up to the 13th floor of the Hollywood Tower Hotel and will freefall! Oh and make sure to smile or scream on your way up, because you’re going to want to keep a memory of this exciting ride like we did.

Tip: Get your fastpasses early since this is another popular ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I was there at 9:00 am when the  park opened and got fastapasses for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster®  and stood in line for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™but since it was early it was only a 15 minutes wait.

3-Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular!

Echo Lake
Duration: 30 Minutes

If your family is an Indiana Jones fan, you’re going to want to see this spectacular show, my boys didn’t blink for 30 minutes! Here you get to a behind the scenes look on how they make the stunts and special effects of this blockbuster movie. Sitting down under a tent with fans, very comfortable you watch how they filmed a few scenes of the movie, expect lots of adventure, laughs and of course surprises!

Tip: Be sure to check the Times Guide at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the schedule and show times. Since this is an outdoor show, it is also subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

4-Lights, Motors, Action!® Extreme Stunt Show®

Streets of America
Duration: 38 minutes.

Another one of my kids favorite shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This is a high-speed auto show, where modified high-performance cars and motorcycles chase each other, you’ll even feel the heat from fiery explosions and see stunt men fall from 5-story buildings. All stunts are played back on a massive video screen to reveal how action-packed chase scenes are made through the magic of film editing, camera angles and other amazing tricks of the trade. What my kids love the most is to see Lightning McQueen as Mater warns him of an enemy spy tracking him on the set. This show is a must!

Tip: Get there early (10 minutes before the show starts at least) This is if yo want to sit downstairs where you can see the cars up close and personal and won’t have to deal with climbing dozens of stairs. Also b sure to check the Times Guide at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the schedule and show times. Since this is an outdoor show, it is also subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

5-Toy Story Midway Mania!

Pixar PlaceFastpass available

toy story mania

This 4D shootin’ gallery of carnival games inspired by the Toy Story movie is one of my family’s favorites at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim, CA so we had to ride it. Here you climb aboard a Carnival Ride Tram put on you  3D glasses,  grab your action shooter and  glide into the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set and take aim at moving 3D objects in a variety of fast-paced games, it’s extremely fun and exciting, we always have a compete to see who gets more points.

Tip: Get your fastpasses early since this is another popular ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you live in California and don’t have enough time, you can skip it and go to another ride instead.

6-Star Tours® – The Adventures Continue

Echo lakeHeight: 40in (102cm) or taller
Fastpass available

Star Tours

This is a classic and although they also have this ride in Disneyland, Anaheim, my kids wanted to ride it because is another one of their favorites, plus there’s over 50 story combinations on Star Tours, so you never now what’s going to happen. Star Tours is an exciting ride, here you put on your 3D flight glasses and tour the universe in a Starspeeder 1000 3 through the darkest reaches of the solar system, but a series of mishaps unwittingly causes your starship to launch and C-3PO to take control! And that’s when the adventure starts! Expect lots of thrills and surprises, plus

7-Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream

Mickey Avenue

Walt Disney: One Mans Dream at DisneyÕs Hollywood Studios

This is for truly Disney fans! In this multimedia gallery exhibit you’ll get to learn the making of Walt Disney, from the first Mickey Mouse sketches, models of the parks, scaled replicas of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris Resort even Walt Disney’s 2nd-grade school desk, here you’ll be immersed into the magic of Walt Disney, you’ll be inspired!  One Man’s Dream invites you to discover the man behind the mouse, his many achievements and his ongoing legacy. At the end of the gallery you’ll find the Walt Disney theater where every 15 minutes they play a 15-minute film hosted by Julie Andrews, here you’ll relive the life and times, the trials and tribulations of a creative visionary, utilizing rare audio recordings

Tip: The exhibit is a gallery tour that you can walk at your own pace and leave through a door before the theater, this  if yo don’t think your kids can stay put for 15 minutes watching the movie.
